Our Story
Sangre de Mar is a leather goods brand shaped by place, craftsmanship, and intention. Rooted in the Pacific coastlines of Mexico and Canada, the brand reflects a way of living defined by movement, contrast, and quiet confidence.
Inspired by the Pacific shores of both countries — from the raw beauty of Zipolite and Mazunte to the mountains, ocean, and modern energy of Vancouver — Sangre de Mar began as an exploration of texture, emotion, and freedom. Over time, that inspiration evolved into a more refined, contemporary expression, bridging natural landscapes with urban life.
This dialogue between Mexico’s warmth and British Columbia’s restraint informs every design. The result is a collection of pieces that feel effortless yet intentional, grounded yet modern.
Today, Sangre de Mar creates handcrafted leather bags and accessories, produced in small batches with a focus on quality, proportion, and longevity. Each piece blends traditional craftsmanship with a modern point of view, designed to move seamlessly between travel, city life, and everyday moments.

The Founder
Sangre de Mar was founded by Alejandro Miramontes, a Mexican designer with a background in textile design, fashion branding, and marketing. Born in Guadalajara and shaped by time spent along Mexico’s Pacific coast, in Mexico City, and now Vancouver, Alejandro’s work is deeply influenced by geography, culture, and the environments people inhabit.
With experience spanning fashion and technology, Alejandro brings a thoughtful, design-led approach to Sangre de Mar. His vision balances emotion with function, and craftsmanship with restraint — creating products that feel personal, intentional, and timeless.
Craft & Responsibility
At Sangre de Mar, responsibility is guided by intention rather than trends. Our leather is sourced from trusted suppliers that meet high standards for quality, safety, and ethical practices. We select premium leathers for their durability, texture, and ability to age beautifully over time.
Production takes place in small batches, in collaboration with skilled artisans in Mexico. This approach allows us to maintain close relationships with our workshops, ensure fair working conditions, and minimize unnecessary waste.
Rather than mass production or seasonal excess, we focus on thoughtful design and longevity. We believe that creating well-made pieces, produced with care and respect, is one of the most responsible choices a brand can make.
