Welcome to Sangre de Mar, where the spirit of Mexico's sun-soaked shores is captured in every piece we design. Born from a passion for sustainable fashion, inspired by the beautiful Pacific coastlines, Sangre de Mar offers a unique collection of handbags and travel accessories designed for the tropical bohemian eco-conscious traveler. The collection was inspired by the rustic, wild, and passionate essence of places like Zipolite, Mazunte and Sayulita. Each piece in our collection blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, embodying a commitment to both style and sustainability.

Our Founder

Alejandro Miramontes is a Mexican textile designer and a graduate of Universidad Iberoamericana. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, he spent part of his adolescence in Puerto Vallarta and later forged his career in Mexico City. Alejandro harbors a profound love for Mexico—its warm people, rich cuisine, vibrant colors, natural beauty, and enchanting beaches embody his passion for the country in every sense.

With an extensive and established career in fashion branding and marketing, as well as in technology, Alejandro's interest in sustainable materials stems from his deep affection for the ocean and marine species, which have been negatively impacted by human neglect and lack of awareness. He is a warm, free-spirited individual, proudly part of the LGBTQ+ community, and an entrepreneur at heart.

At Sangre de Mar, sustainability is more than a buzzword—it's a commitment embedded in every layer of our operation. We proudly utilize a variety of cruelty-free and sustainable alternatives to leather, one of which is Recos. This innovative material is made in Mexico and is notable for its use of renewable resources like wheat and maize. Our manufacturing process embodies the essence of artisanal craftsmanship, with each product skillfully made in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

We follow fair trade practices, ensuring that everyone involved in our process is treated with fairness and respect. As part of our core values, we are dedicated to minimizing waste. We produce in small batches to reduce excess inventory, embracing a slow fashion model that prioritizes quality over quantity and sustainability over speed.
